Midsummer's Day

Midsummer's Day started sunny and warm and the younger generation took the canoe upstreams to Lake Israel, there is that much water in the stream.

The dogs' mum and dad arrived just in time for lunch.

I had made an apple pie in the old oven for dessert. It feels good to be able to use the wood burning stove for that too. Maybe I'll try muffins later.

In the afternoon the clouds built up and the temperature dropped. Perfect weather for indoor games. Adam's trying to beat his dad at chess. Gunnar and I went for a walk in the forest. I was hoping to capture some animal with my camera, moose or bear would be good..... The week before we arrived, Conny had encountered 2 bears just outside his front door when he stepped outside in the early morning. Scary.

A few family portraits

We played Mexican Train until late while it rained softly outside.
