This little guy we're on his second trip in these mountains. We met when I was going to bed last night.
The breakfast buffé on Storulvån is generous to say the least. We eat our fill and then made a lunch bag to take away.
Sarah had an extra waffle.
To get across this river one has to walk this suspension bridge. It's sooo scary because it wobbles and there's not much to hold on to.
On the other side we stopped for water and a rest.
Gunnar started to feel a little funny.
We walked through rough terrain from just after 9 in the morning until a quarter to 5.
We stopped for lunch at the halfway hut. By this time the sun had come out and it was getting warmish, 13 degrees I think. Gunnar was not feeling well at this point.
This hut had been equipped with wifi and 12 volt to load a telephone or ipad. In the middle of nowhere, can you imagine? It's a safety thing of course.
After some half an hour's rest we continued, but not far. We had to stop and Gunnar had to lay down, he couldn't continue. We all got quite a scare as you can imagine. We redistributed the carried load, Sarah took Gunnar's rucksack and some more of the things from her own, so Gunnar shouldn't have to carry too heavy. After that we continued and managed to reach Sylarna station.
After a shower and a good rest, Gunnar felt fine again and we had our dinner. This is the view from our window in the dining room.
And look what we saw! Some reindeer passing just outside. We have seen several on the hike today, it's magic.
And here we are on the station checking mail and blogging! I took some photos with the proper camera too, but those will have to wait until I can download them to the computer at the end of the week.
It has been an eventful and dramatic day and we ought to sleep like logs tonight.
